ADOPTING AND MARK WAHLBERG GOT ME UP AT 4:30AM
When we adopted 4 little ones two years ago, I thought I might die. FOR REAL.
We spent the first 3 months alone as a new family. There were 5 of us (big people) and just 4 of them! How hard could it be???
They got up at 5:30 in the morning and demanded our full attention for the next 14 hours. We tried to divide and conquer, but we were no match. They wanted to play, eat, yell, cry and basically run the show.
As soon as we put them to bed, we cried ourselves to sleep. “Babe. What if we don’t survive?”
We slowly moved their bedtime to 7:30, we bought blackout curtains and they started sleeping in. Still. It was GAME ON as soon as they woke up.
I remember reading that Mark Wahlberg gets up at 2:30am to work out. WHAAAAT? Is that even legal?
My personal Bible study was anemic, so I decided to try my version of getting up early. I set the alarm for 5:30am and
IT
WAS
BRUTAL.
My eyes bled.
I started going to bed earlier, making some adjustments and finally joined the 5am club!
5am turned into 4:30 and now I’m working towards 4am. It’s my new corner of the world.
I start the coffee maker.
Shower.
Plan for the day.
Journal.
Study the Bible.
Read something inspiring.
I love 4:30am.
I especially love when the full moon crawls through the windows and lights up the coffee room.
I love when the light slowly reveals the day’s canvas. Especially when we’re floating on a cloud.
Maybe 4:30 is waiting for you too?
